100% open-source data platform

TDP completes the core requirements of your enterprise to complement a modern data architecture with a 100% open-source, fully-tested, data platform based on the Apache ecosystem. TDP is deeply integrated with your strategic data center technologies and allows you to reuse existing skills and resources.

It is not just about code

Open development

Developments and discussions happen on GitHub. Everyone is invited to participate. The decision process is based on meritocracy.

Community driven

No single organization controls TDP. The project is hosted under the umbrella of the TOSIT, a French association whose motivation is the promotion of open source projects. One possible future outcome is to join the Apache Foundation.

Liberal licensing

All the licenses used across the platform are compatible with the Apache v2 and MIT licenses. The software complies with free and open-source software (FOSS), both free software and open-source software. Anyone is freely licensed to use, copy, study, and change the software in any way. The source code is openly shared so that people are encouraged to voluntarily improve the design of the software.

Project selection

Every component of the platform follows a rigorous selection. While the original goal was to maximize the compatibility with the HDP platform, new components provide the guarantee of a healthy and diversified community.

About the TOSIT association

TOSIT stands for The Open Source I Trust. It is a French association whose mission is to promote open-source between large and institutional organizations. The foundation offered a framework for discussion to several of its members sharing the same thoughts on the future of open source big data platforms. It is currently incubating the TDP project, an acronym for Trunk Data Platform, which is realizing its ambitions, namely the construction of a fully open-source big data platform.
